Illinois Teen Sentenced to Boot Camp
A Dixon teen is going to boot camp for his role in a rash of car thefts.
Kyle D. Sweet, 17, of 921 N. Hennepin Ave., was sentenced Thursday to five years for burglary, which he will serve if he fails to successfully complete the Department of Corrections impact incarceration program.
Sweet also was given 70 days credit for time served in the Lee County Jail and ordered to pay $371 restitution.
Police arrested Sweet and a 16-year-old boy in the 200 block of East Second Street on Aug. 15, after a KSB Hospital employee reported seeing the two entering cars in the Commerce Towers parking lot.
