Overview of Falcon Ridge Ranch
Falcon Ridge Ranch is a residential treatment program for troubled teenage girls ages 12 to 17 who struggle with self-esteem, aggression, social skills, lying, respect for others, academics, substance abuse, learning disabilities, or sexual promiscuity.
The ranch is located in beautiful southern Utah near Zion National Park. The program is based on a positive peer culture and the philosophy that each girl is responsible for her own actions.
An individual paced academic plan is created upon entering the program to help tailor treatment to the specific needs and situations of each student.
Treatment consists of individual, group, family, equine, recreational, and substance abuse therapy (Twelve Step). The girls participate in equine therapy four times weekly, which helps them learn respect, assertiveness, teamwork, discipline, and communication skills in a unique way. The treatment process allows the girls to realize that they are of worth and that they are happier when making positive choices.
Classes at Falcon Ridge Ranch School are held year-round to give students an opportunity to succeed in academics and progress towards graduation.
Families can participate in the program through regular family therapy, which may be over the phone or as part of a family weekend at the ranch.
An aftercare program is developed for each girl as she graduates to help her manage the transition back into family life. A transitional program is also available for those who would like extra help in the transition back home and the opportunity to learn some valuable life skills.
